Dr. Torrance Walker is Board Certified in Orthopaedic Surgery and Orthopaedic Sports Medicine. He earned his Medical Degree and specialty training in Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. He completed fellowship training in Adult Reconstruction at the world-renowned Campbell Clinic in Memphis, TN, where he gained vast experience in complex primary and revision joint replacement. Dr. Walker’s background in sports medicine and adult reconstruction places him in a unique position to handle a broad spectrum of knee and hip related conditions. He has dedicated himself to the highest standards of patient care and built a reputation for excellence in hip and knee reconstruction, joint replacement and total joint revision. He always looks for biologic or joint preserving approaches first and only recommends joint replacement surgery if it’s clearly the best or only choice for his patient. Dr. Walker was in a solo orthopedic practice in Arkansas for many years before moving to Texas.
Dr. Walker is a member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine, and the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons. He has co-authored textbook chapters and scientific publications in the areas of partial and total joint replacement. His professional interests centers on providing treatments for the active adult and mature athlete and include: joint replacement, Robotic Assisted knee surgery, partial knee resurfacing, arthroscopic and reconstructive knee surgery, hip arthroscopy, revision joint replacement, and biologic joint reconstruction such as cartilage and meniscal transplantation.
Dr. Walker enjoys spending time with his wife and two sons. He volunteers with his church. He and his family are big sports fans and regularly attend college games in addition to the children’s sports activities.
