Dr. Lowe is a native Texan. He graduated from Rider High and Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls. He attended medical school at the University of Texas Health Science Center Houston. Dr. Lowe returned to north Texas for his internship and orthopedic surgery residency at John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth. Hand surgery captured his interest, and he was pleased to acquire a hand surgery fellowship at the University of Alabama in Birmingham. Dr. Lowe is board certified in both Orthopedics and Hand Surgery.
While a majority of Dr. Lowe’s professional life was involved with running a solo practice in Fort Worth, he began his career as an assistant professor of orthopedic surgery at the University of South Alabama in Mobile. Most recently he spent three years in Morganton, North Carolina as the hand expert for Carolina Orthopedic Specialists. He now returns to Fort Worth and the Bone and Joint Clinic.
Dr. Lowe has been a member of the American Medical Association and the American Association of Orthopedic Surgeons. His current memberships include the Texas Medical Association, Tarrant County Medical Society, and the American Society for Surgery of the Hand. Dr. Lowe contributed test questions to be given to other hand surgeons for 5 years as a member of the Self Assessment Exam Committee with the ASSH. Dr. Lowe has given national and international talks on wrist fractures and thumb arthritis.
